As many of you will know, during August we host Spirefest our mini music festival.
This year it is on Saturday, August 10th from 6pm-midnight!
So here are some finer details of what we have planned this year...
This year we have three brilliant local bands coming to play for us

Stone Groove perform a balanced mix of disco, funk, soul, rock and pop classics from the likes of Chic, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson alongside the more modern grooves of Daft Punk, Bruno Mars, The Killers and Jamiroquai. For more information click on the picture above to visit their website

Many of you may or may not know but we have been in the last few months buying lots of fondue sets! We have finally got enough which leads us onto our next monthly evening event as you can see. Something completely new and on ground not yet trodden for us at the café. I think a few of you think we are completely mad undertaking two courses of fondues but you know how we love a challenge!!!!
So as you can see from the menu below, starter and dessert will be 'fondue-esque' with sliders for our buffet main course, which in case you don't know, sliders are mini versions of everything. Don't panic though if you have a big appetite we have solution- just eat more of them!!!
We hope you will come and join us for a fun evening!
Don't forget...… there's a forfeit if you drop your food in the fondue!! (Don't worry we won't be enforcing that but your table guests might!!)
You are, as ever, welcome to bring your own alcohol, we simply charge you £1 per person to cover glass washing and bottle disposal. You might be interested to know we have recently put in for our alcohol license for our café which will enable us to sell alcohol, which for some of you will make you very happy. If however you think you would still like to bring your own then this will remain unchanged.

Our next evening event celebrates those lovely few days we experienced a couple of weeks ago when the sun shone, we felt the warmth of the sun on our backs, the coats and scarves came off and the t shirts were clad and, in my case, pale white arms showing, the birds sang and we all felt a spring in our step! It was brief and it was a bit of a tease, but it inspired me enough to bite at Spring for our next evening event!
Spring is one of my favourite times of year as it is full of anticipation, all the new growth is showing and from a ‘Cheffy’ point of view there is a whole new range of fruit and veg impending in the markets and grown locally- now that’s exciting!!!
As you can see below I have written a menu that reflects April with slight influences of Easter, Mother’s day and of course Spring thyme!
Mini devilled tartlets filled with quail’s eggs, asparagus
Dorset blue vinny, pear and walnut palmiers
Chicken goujons with a garlic and fresh herb dip
